2014 has been a GREAT year for our Pick 4 plays with some monster wins. Let’s se if we can end the year with a bang and a nice pk4 pay-off!

This sequence today is going to have everyone singling the #3 in race six and possibly the #7 in race 7 and spreading in the other legs in the hopes for a nice price. I don’t typically like to single so I will hope my handicapping today pays off on my normal spread bet. Also, they may take the races off the turf course later so watch for scratches in that scenario.

In the first leg #3 Cool Roger and #6 Majestic Charlie are the morning line favorites. #3 has not raced in 20 months and this 7 furlong distance could be a bit much 1st back. Cool did have a fast workout last week so there is a possibility and he is dropping in class and Carla Gaines had a big weekend. As I’m doing 5 horses in this leg I’ll use him.  I will use #6 Majestic as well. As for the rest of the field throw a dart, its that kind of race where an all button could be hit. I am going 2 deep in the next and three in the last two legs so I can go five deep here and ticket will cost $45. #5 Kaliha Sun is dropping and got some interest in his first and is second time Lasix. #11 Surfer Moon had a fast workout a few days ago. #13 Undrgroundrailroad is a late runner that could steal it at this distance. Whenever I spread in a single leg the favorite usually wins!

In the 6th race the money will all flow to #3, The Gomper, who won his first start easy. It was a dominating performance and the odds on price makes sense here but I’m still not going to single. I will also use the #8 Serbian Syclone who also won in dominating fashion in his last on the lead. These shorter sprints if the horse can get away like Serbian has the chance too, could lead to a gate to wire performance here.

In the 7th race #7 Chati’s On Top is another horse many may consider a single. If Chati and Gomper disappoint today it will be another big Pick 4 payout. With Talamo on board  its a must use. #9 Market Quote is a horse I like and is a late closer. I just love the thrill of your closing horse winning from behind and Market Quote has that chance today. #3 A Little Luckier has an apt name today for us. A Hollendorfer claim up north that has shipped down, picks up Desormeaux my other favorite jockey.

In the final race we have the morning line favorite #5 Bad Behavior from the Baffert/Garcia tandem which I usually bet against. This is the first start in 8 months for a horse that likes to run second but it is the favorite so I will use it in the hopes this combo actually wins for us one time! #7 Arctic Code ran second in his last race, has Bejarano on board and is a horse that is in the money 75% of the time. #5 Spring Action adds blinkers, drops, and has Talamo on board.

Today’s Pick 4 bet will cost $45, five by two by three by three.
