We have 9 races today with a ⅗ favourite in race 5 making the Pick 5 a Pick 4. I am keeping the tickets on the low end today but there are a few very interesting longshots on the card that could help juice the payouts when they win for us!
Pick 5 I need a single is race 5 Richard’s Boy at ⅗ morning line. The sequence today is essentially a Pick 4 that looks like it wont pay a lot therefore my ticket price is low. Lost by a nose last out at Del Mar on the wire and gets a major jockey upgrade to Prat who is winning 27% for Miller. Top speed in the race.
Pick 4 I need a single is in race – none today
Longshots of the Day:
Race 3: June Two Four won last out by 12 lengths and moves up in class today for a trainer heating up recently (5-2-0-1). Let’s take a shot at a price in a wide open race and with the money likely to go onto the two favorites we could get 10-1 or more here
Race 7: Flying Blue, trainer Harty is 29% 2nd start from 86 and he is in the money 40% of more of the time in all categories. Ships down from GG off a 2nd place finish for a trainer 31% 2nd time grass. 10-1 or more is a great price
Race 8: Hot Perfection, 20-1 on a Prat ridden horse yes please! Ran 4th last out on dirt going 5 ½ off the bench and now stretches out and moves to turf. Nothing much on paper this is a Prat is riding I am betting longshot play
Today’s Race 6 Late Pick 4 will cost $27 depending on singles with horses listed in preference.
Today’s Early Pick 5 will cost $24 with singles with horses listed in preference
Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
