It is great to be back at Santa Anita. The summer meet at Del Mar was fantastic for us with numerous large Pick 4 and Pick 5 payoffs as well as some very nice longshot plays! I have changed up the set up for my write-ups so I hope you profit from them! We get to see what the new turf course is like in the 1st race today. It will likely take a few days to see how it plays but it sure is nice to have turf races back! Today of the 9 races three are on Da Hill!

Pick 4 “I need a Single” in Hunt in race 6 on Da Hill hard to argue against singling this dominant horse on the Hillside course but there are some caveats to this race…

Best Bets: In the Pick 5 I am making a stand in race 5 with Touching Rainbows, hot jockey Prat, sharp workout last week and the cutback in distance seems ideal, the ticket was going to be too much even for opening day so this is where I took the stand, a couple of others in here will be overbet and we may get a price over 5-1 here or better!

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
