It was of course the slot machine Hillside that did us in yesterday with a 12-1 shot taking the win and our horse second. We had the favorite and a bomb, just the wrong bomb! We should have done all to get the favorite to win! It didn’t matter though, as we got blanked in the last race. Still, our Best Bet’s did great. Early post time today.

In the first leg, race 6 I like the #7 Carrick Bay who drops after a tough race last out that she has excuses for. The other dropper I like in here is #2 Nicegirlsfinishlast. She got vanned off in her last, not the best scenario but trainer Eurton is 6-8 first time tag.

In race #7 I am going with a longshot, # 4 C J Terror, the first initials of my son and I! Hey, sometimes when you are shooting blanks you have to take a swing. Also this play at 12-1 has some serious merits. He has not raced since 2013 BUT he is 2 for 4 and his trainer Kathy Walsh has is perfect shipping horses (granted I don’t know the number she has shipped!) #1 Parliamentarian is dropping, gets the rail, is fast, had a sharp workout last week AND will be in the front from the start. Gat-to-wire shot! I’m tempted to go with just these 2 but both are prices so I should throw the favorite in, #6 Endless Cruise. I just don’t like him so I wont. I’d rather use #8 The Cleaners who romped from the gate in a workout last week.

Race 8 we head back to the Hillside course. I don’t like class risers on the downhill but there are a couple in here. I will use one of them, the #4 Vow Me Over who won on the hill last out. I am going to throw in #6 Bette Et Bete simply because she is dropping in class and maybe Gallagher will get another win.

In the last race I am going with #1 Win Wish who has two seconds from the last three races. I will use #2 Secure Divdend with red hot Baze who posted a sharp workout last week. I will also throw in #4 Hit a Homerun, the morning line favorite who is moving down in class. I’m going somewhat cheap again today because nothing really jumps out.

Our Best Best’s did great yesterday with both bet ideas coming in for us. It was a modest win but it paid for the day’s entertainment! Today I really like a couple of horses. In the first race the #1 Oil looks like a no brainer but at 4/5 little value. In race 2 She’s a Big Winner who is 2 for 3 faces off against Avenge seeking her third straight. Avenge is moving up in class though so I give the edge to She’s a Big Winner. $10 Win on She’s A Big Winner and a $5 daily double Oil with She’s A big Winner.
