We were looking great into race 3 yesterday when scratches made it a 3 horse field and we had a 2/5 horse who had won 5 in a row on the Hillside course. A lock? Not in California racing anymore as a stroll around the track was in order and said 5 in a row winner on the Hill favorite ran last. You just cannot handicap nonsense like that. The day was saved with a nice $140 trifecta with our 3 choices in the last race and it could have been more had our 25-1 longshot held on for second! The Pick 5 today has two Hillside races with full fields so if we can get out of those races the payoff should be nice. The Pick 4 today ends with a $6k claimer. Rain is in the forecast today so its anyone’s guess if the Hill races remain. I handicapped today for races staying on turf and I am keeping tickets small. Talamo needs to be watched in the coming days as he has that look of going on a heater and its been a while since that happened.

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
