I hope everyone had a nice relaxing week and is ready for some great racing from Santa Anita! Today’s sequence is either going to pay small or pay big but as long as we get some of it I’ll be happy!

The 5th race begins on the Hillside course. There are many with a chance in here but the only way to get the winner is to hit the ALL button which is what I will do. On the last Hillside race I had 6 horses and the 7th horse won! I can make the case for every horse in here to have a chance.

In the sixth I am going to single the #1 When We Met. He is 7 of 11 and 2 for 2 at this distance and he is also taking a big drop in class. He should win.  You could also use #2 in here Dress Code with Bejarano on board as this jockey/trainer combo is 2 for 5.

In the 7th race I am going with the #1 Wicked Heat and the #7 Silver Torch. Bejarano hops onboard for a trainer he wins 43% with so far. Wicked has not raced since his monster win back in July at Los Al.  #7 is from my favorite jockey/trainer tandem of Desormeaux/Hess who have started to heat up at Santa Anita, much like they did this past summer at Del Mar. Silver is also a closer and I do love closing horses on the turf. The morning line favorite is likely to be the #9 I’ll Wrap It Up but I just don’t like this horse having burned up my money many times in the past. He is dropping but I will pass.

In the final leg I am also going to use three horses, the #5 Artic Code #6 Starzilla and the #9 Silent Ruler. Code almost won at Los Al in December and then faltered in his last. The drop today should help. The #9 teams up the Desormeaux brothers and I usually pay attention when these two hook up. Ruler was disappointing back in his December 7 race but dropped for the Dec 31 race and finished a strong second. The morning line favorite is the #6 Starzilla who has done nothing in his last two but is taking a major drop.
