It is actually a welcome relief to see the 1-3 choices come home in almost every race at Los Alamitos after the parade of bombs and massive payouts we saw at Del Mar. It feels like a real meet so far! As such, it may be time to reduce the use of bombs to only 1 in a pick 4 race because when chalks come home the payouts tend to be under $100 for 50c.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
