The good news on Friday was that Del Mar is being just like the summer meet – bomb central. The Pick 5 paid $20k for 50c and the Pick 4 paid $4,750. Granted its just the 1st day but that is how the summer meet started off! This is not an easy card today but if you are determined to keep your tickets on the low side there are a couple of spots to make a stand.
Del Mar is where the big prices usually hit and where our biggest wins have come!
Pick 4 “I need a Single” was hard to land on one today, in fact the Pick 4 today is higher priced than I usually play
In the Pick 5 today I have the ticket on the low end at $36 but if you want to chop the price further or add extra coverage in other legs a potential single is in race 3, Sabi Sands from the Desormeaux brothers. Off since August here where she ran a closing 4th to American Girl who won a stakes race next out and then ran 3rd in the Breeders Cup. The 2nd and 3rd place finishers won next out too. Strong, strong race plus a sharp work in prep for this race

Longshots of the Day: Win/place bets on these
Race 8: Banze No Oeste, Miller/Desormeaux are on fire winning 38%, ran 2nd going shorter last out and we get a great 8-1 price. In this same race Burger N Fries who I keep betting for naught is racing again so I will also use cause if I don’t now he will win for sure!
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $54 with horses listed in preference.
Races 1-5 selections and also for $36 Pick 5, exacta and trifecta boxes
4,8 (single 4 for extra coverage in other legs)
Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
