I will be back to doing my detailed analysis for the Santa Anita later this month!
How do you get the favorite to win a race at Del Mar? Hit the ALL button in your pick 4, have a 24-1 and 13-1 out front and get swallowed on the line by the favorite is how! My highlight horse in race #1 Dragon Flower lost in a photo. We have a few days left at what has been a very tough meet here. Let’s see if we can get some of our bankroll back!
A live price in race #7 is Mr. Jay D the #3 from Hollendorfer. 15-1 with this guy winning daily is a great price for a horse that won both times racing 5 1/2 and Jerry shipped him down for this race. In race #5 there are two logical favorites and contenders but there is an 8-1 shot, Quorum of Joy. Nakatani rides for Freeman and they have won on a big price before. Freeman has positive ROI’s as well and is 25% non-graded stakes.
The favorite wins the first race 14% with horses priced 5-1 or more winning 43%. Red hot Prat jumps on 15-1 shot Public House who put in a fast work last week and mommie is Tribal Rule. #5 Briana Jean has failed as the favorite last three races but comes in 2nd or third so a must use for exotics. Race 3 is a weird one in that the favorite wins 63% and is priced 5-1 under 94% of the time! The morning line fav is #1 Yana with a fast workout to boot but #5 Enduring Erin is hard to ignore as well.
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $27 with horses listed in preference
The Pick 5 has become almost impossible at Del Mar unless your bankroll is giant. I have my selections for the 1st 4 races but my eye is on exotics.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
