The 9th Pick 6 carryover and a $43k Pick 4 payoff tells you everything you need to know about yesterday! We actually started off great on my very small $9 Pick 4 when Run for Retts, my second choice, romped home to victory at 27-1. That was it however for the ticket, but like I said yesterday the way Del Mar is running you cannot be betting big and absolutely must have a bomb or two in your bets. Today’s sequence ends with an $8k claiming race – yikes!
I will be back to doing my detailed analysis for the Santa Anita meet next month.
Race #3 has been run 14 times with the favorite winning only twice. Horses priced over 5-1 have won 57%. Not a bad race to hunt for a price as chaos in the Pick 5 has been the norm this season.
Nakatani if his ribs are ok rides #10 She’s Flush in race 9. Two wins and two seconds at Golden Gate she met an off track here in July and did squat and for that reason we get a huge price. In the nightcap #13 Razorbill ships in off a two-month break for a trainer winning 22% shipping and also drops in class. Note the fast workout a week ago. Razorbill last turned in a sharp workout the week before his April win at 20k. He also won at this $8k level.
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $18 with horses listed in preference
Selections for races 1-6 for Pick 5’s rolling Pick 3 and superfecta boxes
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
