We are right there with our handicapping so far at Del Mar and a tiny bit more good luck we would really be making big, big money. If not for a stumble at the start in race #1 we would have been looking at another monster pick 5 payout as we hit the next 4 winners with some nice rolling double and pick 3 payouts. Our first longshot of the day won at 20-1 yesterday, Cindy’s Secret which I had as the top choice. $289.60 not a bad payout on the rolling pick 3 followed by $158.60! We again got knocked out in the 1st leg of the Pick 4 when our 10-1 top choice was beaten on the line by a horse that interfered with 2 horses in the lane enough that the jockey on the winner looked over his shoulder to see if everyone was ok. It was all for naught but my substitution play in race 9 rolled home for the 9-1 win in a big upset! We are getting some great play for our bets so far this meet! For the second day in a row one of our 10-1 longshots ended up going off as even money favorite. We of course would much prefer the higher price but this trend means we are on!
Del Mar is where the big prices usually hit and where our biggest wins have come!
Longshots of the Day:
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $36 with horses listed in preference.
Races 1-6 selections and also for Pick 5, exacta and trifecta boxes
Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
