Yet again our must need singles failed to do their job and running 2nd in race 5 gave us another 3 of 4 day. I am spending a little more on the tickets today looking for some nice payouts. We have 9 races with some very good value plays.
Pick 4/ 5 I need a single is in race – none today
Value Plays of the Day:
Race 3: League of Shadows won going 5fl on dirt and tries turf for the 1st time today. Top last race speed from the inside post it will be a gate to wire tactic. Jockey follows the horse in here for a trainer 25% shipping.
Race 5: Tough It Out loves Del Mar and has a 3-1-0 record from 7 starts. This is our closer in a race with early speed and although Maldonado is a gate jockey he has ridden this horse in the last two with the top late speed. 15-1 or more is great value in a very wide open race. This horse also has the top back speed in the race. The price we are getting is too great a value to not use.
Race 7: Pretty Point ships down off a win at Golden Gate for Stronach Stables. She was a value play for us at the Summer Meet when Smith rode and it was a typical Smith ride – he had the horse in Tijuana into the stretch and then came late as usual. Great 8-1 or more price we are at the mercy of the jockey.

Typos happen and I do my best not to make them. Always read through my writeups to make sure the posted numbers are correct. I list Pick 4, Pick 5 selections and also a listing of all plays for each race. If there are any differences, please let me know.
*Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
