10-31-2019 Santa Anita Full Card

The Breeders Cup is tomorrow but before we get there we have 9 races for the Thursday card so no overlap in the Pick 5 and Pick 4 today. This is a tough card but we have some very nice value play potentials!

Last day for my Breeders Cup package that also includes ALL SANTA ANITA CARDS for the weekend – a very big savings of 50%

Pick 5 I need a single is in race  – None value shopping

Pick 4 I need a single is in race  – None value shopping

Value Plays of the Day:

Race 1: Impossible Task was one of those rare Doug O’Neill horses that did not win at Del Mar. Last out in August John Sadler claimed the horse and now Joel Rosario rides for Hronis racing. That’s a potent team. We see some sharp works since that last race. 6-1 is great value. Sadler removes the blinkers today and he is 22% for a profit on this move. The horse was also gelded since that last race and is protected today Lots to like here.

Race 4: Billy K jumps up in class off a win last out at this distance. Jockey Velez is 3 of 4 for this trainer, a small stable that is 29% at the meet. Big weight break and risked for a claim these are the placements I like to see from small stables especially at 8-!

Race 5: South Boot Shirley is a trainer stats play – trainer Dollase is 30% 2nd start with trainer and 25% 2nd off the claim. Talamo rides today.

Race 6: Teachers Big Dream is a debut horse who’s sire wins 38% and dam has 6 from 9 winners. This trainer is 19% in maiden claimers. Bred for distance we get nice weight break and a nice 59 second workout 2 weeks ago. Bad race we are taking a price shot with the new face.

Race 7: Cover Vision ran a decent 4th Oct 12 off a 2 month break. Dp Racing hits on prices for us and this race appears wide open.

Typos happen and I do my best not to make them. Always read through my writeups to make sure the posted numbers are correct. I list Pick 4, Pick 5 selections and also a listing of all plays for each race. If there are any differences, please let me know.

*Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.

Irish horse racing saying –

“Bíonn grásta Dé idir an dialait agus an talamh.”

“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
