10-25-2020 Santa Anita Full Card

The last day of the Fall meet. This card is loaded with value plays today. Thank you all for reading my race analysis. I hope you will continue to read at the Del Mar meet. My free Pick 4 can be seen daily during the Del Mar meet on their handicapping page.

LA Times Value Play:

Race 4: Jan’s Reserve picked up 1st time Flavian Prat last out on the drop for trainer Mike Pupye who obviously risked and put Prat on for the money ride. In that race Jan came on late to run second. 1st off the claim new trainer Rosemary Trela enters the horse at the same level. This trainer has a small stable but is 56% on the year, 56% 1st start off the claim and 60% beaten favorite. 5-1 is great value

Value Plays for Today:.

Race 6: Senoradiablo trainer is 29% (2 of 7), 32% sprint to route, 23% routing. Last out she came a smidge too late and passed the winner on the gallop out.

Race 7: Wishful major upgrade to Rispoli.

Race 9: Silberpfil 1st time Euro horse who ships out after a 2nd in Italy 5 weeks ago.  1st time Lasix could be big here at a nice price for a trainer 24% 1st time Lasix. Hang a Star tries turf for the 1st time with Espinoza the 15-1 price is nice too! Value horses win this race 38%.

Race 10: Italiano has been considered good enough to have Prat ride  multiple times in the last year. Today Pyfer gets the mount with a huge 10 pound weight break. She has already won for this trainer and at 8-1 is nice value. Big Scott Daddy is a sharpie play – Frank Scatoni called it his play of the meet – must use as a 1st time gelding!

Race 11: Acoustic Shadow came from 2nd last into the turn to run on late and catch the leaders on the gallop out. 3rd start off the layoff 8-1 is a price I am all over today. Nurse Goodbody was in the same race and came from last place with Shadow to also just missed. Sharp workout. Great prices to end the meet.

Typos happen and I do my best not to make them. Always read through my writeups to make sure the posted numbers are correct. I list Pick 4, Pick 5 selections and also a listing of all plays for each race. If there are any differences, please let me know.

*Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.

Irish horse racing saying –

“Bíonn grásta Dé idir an dialait agus an talamh.”

“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
