It is closing day today in what I would describe as a tough meet for handicapping! We had many longshots come home at some very big prices but the elusive Pick 4 and Pick 5 was always one win away. Thanks for reading my write-ups and I will see you all when the Fall Meet returns!
I will be hosting the Newcomers Seminar just inside the front gates today so if you are at the track for closing day stop by and say hi. The seminar begins an hour before the race 1 post time.
Today’s Full Card is only $8.

In race 2 Freddies Dream looks like a clear standout but they are dropping off the win last out 1st off the claim and they claimed from Miller who has been a tad chilly here and there are no workouts posted since that August 6th race, Roman rides through the claim but I have questions
Pick 4 I need a single is race 8 Run Away with Prat riding for Callaghan and they are 46% at the meet, won a G2 last out and is unbeaten in 3 starts
Longshots of the Day:
Race 1: Buck Duane, Roman and Miyadi are 38%, well breed, faster works than normal from this trainer, mom has 5 winners from 5 starters and we get 10-1, horse over 5-1 have won 24% and over 10-1 the same 24% (Scratched) Gringo Star picks up Espinoza who usually does not ride the 1st race, Dam has 6 winners from 6 starters and we get sharp works for a trainer who does not send out many but has hit with 2 of 5 maiden special weights for 40%
Race 2: Out of Patience, Talamo hops off the Ellis horse who on paper looks like a play and rides here, 1st start off the claim for a trainer 18% and 17% off the bench. The works are as good as the fav and at 12-1 looks very interesting here as we look to beat the favorite
Race 4: Miss Richochet, Talamo rides for Glatt instead of Ellis off the bench and we get some sharp works for this race where she is protected and we get 8-1
Race 9: Klosters, UK horse debuts, 1st time Lasix and has had 5 works since arriving from the UK from a June race, the race appears to have been the target and we get 8-1. There is also an Irish debuter with Bejarano riding, Navajo Dream, sharp work last week, Baltas/Bejarano are 5-2-2 from the last 16 and a great 8-1 price as well. This race is won by horses over 5-1 a nice 43% from 7 races
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $30 with horses listed in preference.

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
Irish horse racing saying –
“Bíonn grásta Dé idir an dialait agus an talamh.”
“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
