Pacific Classic Day is here and we have 11 races to navigate today beginning with the 1st race where every horse has a legit chance to win! There are some very nice value plays.
Value Play of the Day:
Race 7: Count Again at 12-1 is too great a price to ignore. 2 of 3 at this distance this horse has a devastating late kick that if timed right will be a big upset win for us. Sharp works and Bravo is 3 of 7 for this trainer. From 46 races horses over 5-1 have won 21 times.
Value Plays for Today:
Race 2: Red Valor has won 2 in a row for two different trainers and now moves to the Glatt barn who is winning 23%. Cedillo rides through the claim as they jump in class. Sharp work, nice price.
Race 3: Memo Daddy gets a huge upgrade today to Rispoli on turf. Last out this horse was continually mugged deep stretch on the rail trying to re-rally twice but then pulled back. 10-1, Rispoli and this race from 20 races has been won 40% by horse over 5-1.
Race 5: Ofless Naughty gets Rosario at 12-1? Hopped at the start the horse had to make a 6 wide late move to miss by 2 lengths and fly on the gallop out. This price seems too good to be true!
Race 9: Closing Remarks is reunited with Rispoli who has 2 wins and 2 seconds from his 4 rides. Had the prep race last out, sharp works, great price. Horses 5-1 or more have won this race 42%.
Race 10: Cupid’s Claw is my upset special for the Classic. 2nd last out to Tizamagician Rispoli hops on and he is a master of judging pace. Cutting back after running 2nd in the mile and a half Cougar there is a sharp work. This horse has speed and can close giving Umberto options. 15-1 is wowsers value!
Race 11: Media Blitz is a Kalem Shah horse and they tend to have a winner on big race days. Rispoli hops back on for a horse who is 3-3 from 8 at this distance and 1-1 from 2 here. 30-1 is a big price with this considered a match race with the favorites but never discount Rispoli on the turf. Astronaut with Victor riding (he has big upsets in big races over the years here too) is interesting as a value play here too.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
