07-27-2017 Del Mar Full Card

What a truly great card today. After going through this card I came away feeling really, really good about our plays today! The rails are at 30 feet again today for the turf course so the bias continues for front runners. We have another carryover for the Pick 6 today so the pools should be very nice. We hit a great price in the first leg of the Pick 5 yesterday at 14-1 so our longshots are starting to come in nicely – next up is a big Pick 4 and Pick 5 payout!

Today’s Full Card including the Pick 6 is only $8

Race 6 is a very interesting one that revolves around jockey Steven’s. He won last out for us on the Neil French horse Aflewency as we tagged their many years profitable tandem. Steven’s also rode Moonshine Annie for Glatt today off a 4th last out and a 1st prior. Steven’s is 40% for Glatt and chose this mount – Prat gets to ride for French. I like the trifecta box angle in here with my selections plus Sea Smoke/Hawks Journey for the superfecta box

Longshots of the Day:

Race 2: Californiasummer, has a 2nd from only Del Mar start just missing on the line at this distance, dropping multiple classes and has speed and a great 12-1 price

Race 7: Mended, has won the last 6 races with the form comment of “driving” going 1 mile on both turf and all weather up North. They ship down with the same jockey today for a trainer 30% this year, 31% shipping, 32% winner last race and a bullet workout and this jockey/trainer are winning 54%!

Race 8: Pantsonfire, 1st time Irish for Baltas who is 24% 1st time maiden, adds Lasix and Nakatani chooses this one over the favorite horse Bejarano rides, shipped in off a June race down the road from my hometown and put in a workout last week. This race has been run 10 times and a horse over 10-1 has won 4 of them

Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $36 with horses listed in preference.

Today’s Pick 5 will cost $36 with horses listed in preference

Pick 6 will cost $32

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.

Irish horse racing saying –

“Bíonn grásta Dé idir an dialait agus an talamh.”

“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
