06-23-2018 Santa Anita Full Card

It’s the second last day of racing for the season at Santa Anita and boy do we have a full card of 12 races and to help juice the pots we have Pick 6 carryovers. The crazy longshots continue to win so lets see if we can find some prices in today’s large card. Turf races dominate today and tomorrow with half the races being on grass. Today’s card looks chalky = uh oh!

Longshots of the Day:

Race 5: Lewis Vale, had won 3 straight on dirt at a mile before switching to turf and racing a closing 3rd last out. Has the fastest speed in this race for a shorse wholikes to win

Race 7: Kona Coast has won two in a row last out with Bejarano and he is 30% for O’Neill and 90% (9 of 10) in the money and you don’t see that stat often. Kona is also dropping in class today and protected and we get 12-1 morning line!

Race 9: Cee’s Wild, in an anybody’s race why not go with my name! Actually winning is in blood with sire 20% debut and mom has 1 winner from 2 starters. Friendly Steve is a backup in this race

Race 10: Steven Decatur, gets a 14 pound weight break off the favorite, won last race at GG and ships down for a trainer who is 33% shipping and dam has 2 winners from 2 starters.

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.

“Bíonn grásta Dé idir an dialait agus an talamh.”

“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
