LA Times Value Play:
Race 10: Cupid’s Claw is my 6-1 upset special in this race with Flavian Prat jumping back on. Last September here under Prat in a Grade 3 Cupid won by 7 lengths. Shipped to a Grade 3 at Keeneland in November the horse misfired badly forcing a 6 months benching. With a prep race last out now under the belt Cupid is dropping in class today making the 2nd start off the layoff, a move trainer Craig Dollase has s 19% win rate for a profit. The two Bob Baffert horses will likely take a lot of money but in a race that has been won by horses over 5-1 a whopping 45% we are ripe for a value upset today.
Value Plays for Today:.
Race 1: Miss Bellatrix moves to turf after a disappointing debut last month on dirt for trainer Doug O’Neill. He promptly puts Umberto Rispoli in the irons, always a difference maker on turf. Agador Spartacus is also interesting here at 10-1 for Val Brinkerhof who hits with value plays a lot. TOUGH race to get out of to start the card!
Race 2: Gone Somewhere is ridden by Flavian Prat at a 12-1 price. a rare thing. He rode the debut last month and dirt and move to turf for trainer Sean Mcarthy who wins 20% on this move. If Prat thinks so I think so at this price!
Race 5: Madama Barbarian is another Rispoli value play on turf at 8-1 Jumping multiple classes off the bench
Race 6: Over Attracted picks up Rispoli again and they send the horse a mile where the best races have occured.
Race 9: Vantage Point 1st time Rispoli.Turf. 6-1.
Race 11: La Gioisa – 2nd time Rispoli for this Grade 1 French import. Also Brooklyn’s Best – look who rides – Joe Brave, his only mount today at 8-1.

Typos happen and I do my best not to make them. Always read through my writeups to make sure the posted numbers are correct. I list Pick 4, Pick 5 selections and also a listing of all plays for each race. If there are any differences, please let me know.
*Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
