We had another great day on Sunday with a very nice $609 Pick 5 win thanks to 3 scratches in the turf races in the sequence. We almost swept the entire card but in the very last race our top choices and longshot scratched and the post time favorite, who should never had been that, choked. A nice day!
Pick 4 I need a single is in race 8 Powder and with Maldonado riding and the inside post we all know what the strategy is – gate to wire. Moves back to dirt and jockey is 2 of 3 for trainer. 2nd start off the layoff, risked for a tag today means they want the win check. We need to spread in this Pick 4 sequence and if not a single here it could be anyone’s race. This single looks great tough.
Pick 5 I need a single is in race 3 Vegan from red-hot O’Neill. Ran 2nd two weeks ago and that experience, 1st time Lasix, hot jockey/trainer tandem, makes for a great single in another must spread Pick 5
Longshots of the Day:
Race 1: Sapori Girl is my wise guy closer in this race. Jockey Joe Talamo rides for trainer Tim Yakteen who is winning 20% and Talamo is winning 38% when he rides for him. We get a sharp workout and this horse has the best closing kick in the race. The added distance looks ideal for the pace set up.
Race 5: Eagle Screams, ships down from Golden Gate with two wins and a 2nd from the last 3 for a trainer with eye popping numbers. 36% shipping, 27% 2nd start off the claim. As much speed as the top choices in here this horse also has the top late speed and the pace set-up looks ideal for this horse
Race 7: Soi Phet is a millionaire and comes in today 2nd start off the layoff and Kent takes over. This tells me Soi is ready to fire. This stakes winner is not risked today in this allowance race is another sign of optimism. Trainer is 28% turf to dirt and the 8-1 morning line price is great!.
Today’s Race 6 Late Pick 4 will cost $40 depending on singles with horses listed in preference.
Today’s Race 1 Early Pick 5 will cost $32 with horses listed in preference
Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.

“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
