05-18-2017 Santa Anita Free Plays

This is not an easy card today and with only 8 races we overlap on the Pick 4 and Pick 5. In the Pick 5 we have another wide open baby race to deal with too. In the last race today the fav is a 7/2 and Prat rides but for O’Neill he is 0-9 and this race is won by horse over 5-1 half the time. Very beatable fav but you have to use defensively on tickets with Prat riding.

Possible singles today:

In race 3 Cherokee Dynasty won big for us last time and again we get a decent morning line price as Miyadi seeks the 3rd in a row win and he drops today off that win and is 25% on that move, have to think they want to get paid and move on

In race 7 Forest Blue should blow this field away and rip gate to wire under Baze, they tried the Hillside last out and he did not like the dirt crossover, back to dirt we go where he rattled off 3 in a row, this race has been won by the fav 3 of 4 times, 4 of 5 after today hopefully!

Longshots of the Day: Win/place bets on these

Race 2: XXX

Race 5: Quiet Dude, tries turf for the 1st time, horse is coming in off a win and is always around at the finish line, moving up in class and loses bug boy weight but that’s why we get 12-1

Race 8: XXX

Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $12 with horses listed in preference.

5 (2)

Today’s Pick 5 will cost $48 or $18 depending on race 2 with horses listed in preference.

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
