10 races for the Saturday card including a very competitive Late Pick 4. I am spending more than I would like on the ticket but with the value plays hitting it should pay nicely.
LA Times Value Play:
Race 7: Supersonic Flyer is my value play in this 13 horse field at 8-1. Ridden by Jessica Pyfer for the 1st time, her big weight break should come in very handy from this inside post. Trainer Leonard Powell drops the horse today from maiden to maiden claiming, a move he is winning 24% with. Back to dirt today, a surface Flyer had her best race trying a gate to wire move under Edwin Maldonado in March. In that race Flyer was caught deep stretch so the cutback totoday to 6 ½ furlongs looks ideal. Blinkers also get added for even more early speed. This is the type of horse and strategy Jessica has done very well on at the meet.
Value Plays for Today:.
Race 1: Flashiest won easy at Turf Paradise in the debut and ships to Cali. Madonado hops on for a trainer he is 2 of 4 thi. Great closing kick and price.
Race 5: Sash is the other Glatt horse and this is where stable jockey Cedillo (43%) lands again. 3rd start off the layoff, sharp work.
Race 9: Explosive – Mandela is having a banner year and going from AW to dirt is 75%. Sharp work, 2nd off the layoff.
Race 10: Lincoln Hawk – 1st time Irish turfer I always bet em!

Typos happen and I do my best not to make them. Always read through my writeups to make sure the posted numbers are correct. I list Pick 4, Pick 5 selections and also a listing of all plays for each race. If there are any differences, please let me know.
*Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
