Happy Cinco De Mayo! We Have 9 races today with decent sized fields but it is again a wide open card. The Late Pick 4 is all allowance races and those have been treating us very well of late.
Pick 4 I need a single is in race – none today
Pick 5 I need a single is in race 3 Gregorian Chant a 1st time Irish turfer with Prat riding for D’Amato and they are winning 40%. 1st time grass after racing on the synthetic in Dundalk but has turf in the bloodlines. Won that debut race too. 1st start since December we have some sharp works in prep for this race, not something you see often with Euro debuters
Longshots of the Day:
Race 7: Ippodamia’s Girl and Siberian Iris. This is the best betting race on the card today with value all over and a race all have a chance. Jockey Mike Smith rides Siberian Iris for trainer Richard Mandella and his tactics will determine which of our longshots wins. 1st start in 4 months Iris has put in three best of the day works in a row, unusual for this trainer. The issue here is Mike Smith has a tendency to run on a little too late at times and finish second. With that in mind I am also using Ippodamia’s Girl with Rafael Bejarano riding for absolutely red hot trainer Andrew Lerner who is a winning 31% and is 2 of 4 with the 2nd start like today. Off since December she is not risked for a claim today in a sign of optimism, and if she performs to last years ability, we have a giant price potential here trying to go gate to wire. For this race we have two value plays, one a front runner and one a closer. My selections for this race are 8,9,3,6,7

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
