Its racing time again at the Great Race Place as the annual Boxing Day start to the racing season kicks in. We have a couple of new features for this meet with the big one being a Late Pick 5. For the near term I am going to be looking to doing 2 horses in each leg of the Pick 5 to see how the pools and payouts workout and revisit later.
New for the Santa Anita meet I am also offering a monthly subscription for 75% off. That’s right for $32 a month you get everything. That’s the cost of 4 race days and you get the other 14 days of racing free a month!
The Late Pick 4 has a $1 million guarantee today. We have one Hillside race and that is the 4th. From 11 races the favorite has won once and horses over 10-1 are winning 36%. The Grade 1 La Brea race 7 has been won by only 2 favorites in the last 17 and with 2 clear choices in this race we need to hunt for a price based on those stats.
Today’s Full Card is only $8.
Pick 4 I need a single is:
None today longshot shoppping
Longshots of the Day:
Race 5: Best Two Minutes, is jumping in class off 2 straight wins and is being risked today in this optional claimer who we have to think they want one more paycheck and we get 12-1 too (although likely lower come post time)
Race 7: XX
Race 8: XX
Race 9: XX
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $27 with horses listed in preference.
Today’s Pick 5 will cost $32 or $64 with horses listed in preference
Today’s Late Pick 5 will cost $16 with horses listed in preference
Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
