A rare Daily Double set-up for us today in race 1-2. Midnight Run has Desormeaux riding for his brother off a 2nd last out in a race where Hess is racing two others. In race 2 Private Terrace has Roman riding beaten by a nose last time when the rider lost his whip and has been 1st or 2nd in the last 4 races. It is an $8k claimer but on paper he should win this race handily!
Today’s Full Card is only $8.
Pick 4 I need a single is race 5 Zuzanna who won last out under Desormeaux rising slightly in class from a race where 2 runners returned to win. Fresh claim off of Hess and Kent hangs around. In race 6 Sing a Solo is another potential single from the Miyadi/Roman 44% winning tandem. She missed by a nose from the rail 2 weeks ago.
Longshots of the Day:
Race 3: Mag the Mighty, Theriot hops on for D’Amato and they are 29% here, drops in class and trainer is 27% on this move, 30% 1st time claiming, 26% 2nd time route and we get 6-1 or more!
Race 4: Cleanup Hitter, Hess/Desormaux won last out and rising in class and cutting back
Race 5: Spinyatta, I usually have a longshot when I like a single in the Pick 4 and this is the one. Won last out and jumping up in class for the same jockey, trainer is 27% maiden winner last and they switch to turf for the 1st time so we get 10-1 or more. Last race looked great in the stretch
Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $24 with horses listed in preference.
Today’s Pick 5 will cost $12 with horses listed in preference
Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.
For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.
When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
