Del Mar 07-28-2016 Free Plays

It was a 3/4 Pick 4 yesterday for us but we did get the top choice in the Real Good Stakes at 14-1 to salvage the day. I thought 5-1 was generous but when 14-1 crossed at post time yehaaa! Today’s card looks very nice, especially the Pick 4 sequence. I’ve had some difficulty narrowing down the selections however to keep the ticket on the small end. I will have my cheapo ticket plus additional considerations for those with bigger bankrolls! Del Mar prices continue to drop in almost every other race so the emphasis is again on shopping for prices in our Pick 3,4,5 and doubles. Look to use our bombs in 50c trifecta boxes and superfecta boxes as well.

Del Mar is where the big prices usually hit and where our biggest wins have come!

Pick 4 “I need a Single” Race: In race 6 Desormeaux/Hess team up on rookie Sundar Creek with some good workouts and this tandem has been lethal at Del Mar in recent years. I’m spreading in this race but if you are looking for a good angle for a possible single in your Pick 4 this is a good choice

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.
