Extreme heat this weekend is going to impact racing so keep this is mind and pay close attention to the post parade. Unfortunately the downside of doing exotics like the Pick 4 is once the 1st race in the sequence goes off there is little you can do! Today’s Pick 4 has a free spot in race 8 with Songbird racing but the price is going to likely be 1-9 and look who rides. Yes, Songbird is a dominant horse and should win by half the track but I cant remember the racing secretary being so nice before in the Pick 4 sequence, plus the jockey. I am going to try to beat Songbird because if she wins the payoff will be small but if she wins and we connect on the other legs we get our bet back anyways!

Best Bets:

Race 1: Name for the Blame

Longshots of the Day:

Race 6: Lauren’s Boy

Race 9: Shehastheritestuff

In race 1 the #9 Name for the Blame an Irish runner last month who zoomed down the stretch to just miss. I marked this horse as one to play next out and we get added ground today.

In race 6 the #4 Lauren’s Lad comes out for the potent duo of D’Amato and Baze who are 5 for 7.

Today’s Late Pick 4 will cost $40.50 with horses listed in preference.

4,6,11

4,2,1

4,2,10

Races 1-5 selections and also for Pick 5, exacta and trifecta boxes

8 (9,6,2)

7 (6)

5,6,7,12

1,4,6

3,7,5

Horses listed in brackets are for added coverage if wanted and for exotics.

For races where I only have one or two selections I usually like to KEY the top choice  with the second choice and an outside for trifectas.

When I have three horses selected in a Pick 4 or Pick 5 consider them for Trifecta boxes and for superfecta boxes use the 3 selections with the highest priced horse with good form or top tier jockeys riding, especially if they give a price. Rolling Pick 3 and doubles using selections.

“Bíonn grásta Dé idir an dialait agus an talamh.”

“The grace of God is found between the saddle and the ground.”
